With the recent reveal of units in Extra Boosters 4 and 5, I wanted to take a look at what the Oracle Think Tank received.

Up until about a day ago, we knew that there were 7 new Battle Sister units to be released: Fromage, Macaron, Tart, Waffle, Tiramisu, Assam, and Chai.  Now, we know the appearances and effects of Fromage, Macaron, and Waffle.

(If you’re incredibly lazy and want to just see the deck list, it’s at the bottom of this post.)

Battle Sister, Fromage: Grade 3, 10000 Power

ACT【V】: Limit Break 4 (This ability is active if you have four or more damage): [Counter Blast (3)] If the number of rear-guards with “Battle Sister” in its card name you have is four or more, draw two cards.
CONT【V】: During your turn, if the number of rear-guards with “Battle Sister” in its card name you have is four or more, this unit gets Power +4000.

Battle Sister, Macaron: Grade 2, 9000 Power, 5000 Shield

AUTO【R】: When this unit attacks, if you have a vanguard with “Battle Sister” in its card name, this unit gets Power +3000 until end of that battle.

Battle Sister, Waffle: Grade 0, 5000 Power, 10000 Shield

AUTO: When another «Oracle Think Tank» rides this unit, you may call this card to Rear-guard Circle.
ACT【R】: [Counter Blast (1) & Put this unit into your soul] Look at up to three cards from the top of your deck, search for up to one card with “Battle Sister” in its card name from among them, call it to Rear-guard Circle, shuffle your deck, and that unit gets Power +2000 until end of turn.

Note: These following 5 lines of statistics and whatnot are unconfirmed.

From some shoddy translation work and a bit of reasoning, I’ve more or less determined the identities of the other 4 units. (**I’ll edit these as more info is released** )  Confirmed, I was right all along!

Battle Sister, Tart: Grade 2, 10000 Power, 5000 Shield

Battle Sister, Tiramisu: Grade 0, 5000 Power, 5000 Shield, Draw Trigger

Battle Sister, AssamGrade 0, 5000 Power, 10000 Shield, Stand Trigger

Battle Sister, Chai: Grade 0, 5000 Power, 10000 Shield, Heal Trigger

I hope I’m dead wrong about the triggers.  Right now, I really, really want an OTT Draw Trigger with an effect.

In addition to these new additions to the game, we also have the existing Battle Sisters to consider:

Battle Sister, Souffle: Grade 3, 10000 Power

AUTO【V/R】: When this unit is boosted by an «Oracle Think Tank», this unit gets Power +2000 until end of that battle.

Battle Sister, Mocha: Grade 2, 8000 Power, 5000 Shield

AUTO【V/R】: When this unit attacks, if the number of cards in your hand is four or greater, this unit gets Power +3000 until end of that battle.

Battle Sister, Glace: Grade 2, 8000 Power, 5000 Shield

AUTO【V/R】: When this unit attacks, if you do not have any cards in your soul, this unit gets Power +3000 until end of that battle.

Battle Sister, Chocolat: Grade 1, 6000 Power, 0 Shield

AUTO: [Choose a «Oracle Think Tank» from your hand, and discard it] When this unit is placed on Guardian Circle, you may pay the cost. If you do, choose one of your «Oracle Think Tank», and that unit cannot be hit until end of that battle.

Battle Sister, Cocoa: Grade 1, 6000 Power, 5000 Shield

AUTO: When this unit is placed on Vanguard Circle or Rear-guard Circle, if you have an 《Oracle Think Tank》vanguard, look at the top card of your deck, and put that card on the top or the bottom of your deck.

Battle Sister, Maple: Grade 1, 6000 Power, 5000 Shield

Auto【V/R】: When this Unit attacks, and your Hand has 4 cards or more, during that battle, this Unit gains +3000 Power.

Battle Sister, Omelet: Grade 1, 7000 Power, 5000 Shield

AUTO【R】: When this unit attacks, if you have an «Oracle Think Tank» vanguard, and you do not have any cards in your soul, this unit gets Power +3000 until end of that battle.

Battle Sister, Vanilla: Grade 1, 6000 Power, 5000 Shield

AUTO: When this unit is placed on Guardian Circle, if the number of «Oracle Think Tank» in your soul is six or more, this unit gets Shield +5000 until end of that battle.

Battle Sister, Ginger: Grade 0, 5000 Power, 10000 Shield, Critical Trigger

Battle Sister, Eclair: Grade 0, 6000 Power, 10000 Shield

AUTO: When another «Oracle Think Tank» rides this unit, you may call this card to Rear-guard Circle.
ACT【R】: [Counter Blast (1) & Put this unit into your soul] Look at up to five cards from the top of your deck, search for up to one grade 3 or greater «Oracle Think Tank» from among them, reveal it to your opponent, put it into your hand, and shuffle your deck.

So, when you mash everything together, you’ve got 2 Grade 3 units, 4 Grade 2 units, 5 Grade 1 units (including the clan Perfect Shield), and 1 of each type of trigger.  That’s enough to make a rudimentary deck.  However, is throwing them all in there a good idea?  No.

* Waffle’s RG effect dumps her into the Soul, so not only does that invalidate Glace’s and Omelet’s effect, but it also wipes out the potential to include cards like Scarlet Witch or anything else that contributes to the Soulless build.

* Omelet might’ve been ignored anyway, as Rear Guard Grade 1 attackers (only apply effects when attacking, not boosting) just aren’t that good.  However, when you consider the fact that Fromage only gains her power boost when 4 or more Battle Sisters are on the field, you’re going to need all of the Grade 1 support that you can muster, and there really aren’t a large number of alternative options.  So, while Omelet won’t make the cut, Maple might probably find her way into a Battle Sisters deck.

*But, we’ll probably end up keeping Omelet, as she’s still a 7k booster, and she can actually pull her effect off on the very first turn, assuming that you move Waffle out of the Soul once you ride.  Your other option would be Vanilla, but she’s only a 6k booster, and her shield-increasing effect can only be used when you hit 6 Soul, which is basically impossible in this deck.

However, the rest of them seem to work pretty well together.  Fromage makes for a formidable Vanguard force, asking for the support of the rest of the deck to keep the field full of Battle Sisters in order to gain a 4k attack bonus on your turn, and also allowing you to CB3 to draw 2 cards, rewarding the bit of hand-emptying you likely did to fill up the field in the first place.  Souffle and Macaron allow 20k columns, but only when boosted by an Oracle Guardian, Gemini (not a Battle Sister).  On its own, Macaron can hit for 12k, while Souffle relies on a boost to get that extra 2k.  Mocha brings 11k to the table as long as you have 4 cards in your hand before you attack.  And Tart, in all likelihood, will offer that solid 10k vanilla beater goodness that finds its way into so many decks.  Chocolat is the Perfect Shield for Oracle Think Tank, so there is no reason to not include 4 of her in this deck.  Battle Sister Cocoa brings her powerful scrying effect to the table, while Omelet offers the highest natural boost to a unit that a Battle Sister can offer.  The trigger distribution, assuming you want to use entirely Battle Sister units, will end up being 4/4/4/4.  For this sort of deck, I’d recommend something like 4 Heal / 6 Crit / 6 Draw to start with, and advocate experimentation from there.  I personally can’t decide whether to take more advantage of the powerful base attack of Souffle and Macaron, or to help make Fromage and/or Mocha more useful by increasing your hand size.

Decklist: Nuns n’ Guns

Vanguard:

  • 1x Battle Sister, Waffle

Grade 0:

  • 2x Battle Sister, Ginger (Crit)
  • 4x Battle Sister, Chai (Heal)
  • 4x Battle Sister, Tiramisu (Draw)
  • 4x Psychic Bird (Crit)
  • 2x Victory Maker (Draw)

Grade 1:

  • 4x Battle Sister, Chocolat (Perfect Shield)
  • 4x Battle Sister, Cocoa
  • 3x Battle Sister, Omelet
  • 3x Oracle Guardian, Gemini

Grade 2:

  • 4x Battle Sister, Macaron
  • 4x Battle Sister, Mocha
  • 4x Battle Sister, Tart

Grade 3:

  • 4x Battle Sister, Fromage
  • 3x Battle Sister, Souffle

After looking at this thing that I pieced together… it doesn’t look bad at all.  It’s got a lot more Rearguard column strength than Soulful or Soulless, a Superior Call from topdeck (that you can potentially influence with Cocoa), and it still has the machinations necessary to maintain decent hand advantage.  Something as subtle as a trigger re-distribution can wildly change this deck, from a heavy beatdown to a field-swarm deck.  I’m definitely looking forward to getting boxes and boxes of this set.
